Apex Heart Institute Gets India’s First Robotic Angioplasty System | The Quint

Описание: A milestone was achieved in the history of interventional cardiology field at the Apex Heart Institute in Ahmedabad as the hospital installed the first and only Vascular Robotic System outside the United states. World renowned Cardiologist and Chairman of Apex Heart Institute, Dr Tejas Patel announced the first commercial installation of CorPath GRX (US FDA approved).

The hospital's first robotic-assisted stent performed via right dorsal transradial access performed under the supervision of Dr Patel. Within three weeks of installation, Dr Patel along with his partner Dr Sanjay Shah has performed more than 50 coronary angioplasty/stent surgeries including complex cases like patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) and Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO).

Dr Patel is a global key opinion leader and pioneer of the transradial access technique (angioplasty / stenting through the wrist artery), who has trained over 5,000 cardiologists on this technique over the course of 25 years of his career.
