O, Lord, Thou has searched me and knows me well,
Whether I sit or I rise.
Thy compass, it ever follows me
E’er from thy holy skies.
Chorus:
For there are no words which my tongue can speak
But for thy knowledge is clear.
There is no land to escape thy sight,
As Thou art ever near.
O, I may ascend to thy heaven or
Maketh my bed down in hell.
Thy hand, it is covered over me.
O, ever guard me well.
How precious are ever thy thoughts, O God.
Great is the sum of them all.
O, I will praise Thee; thy works are great.
This is thy sacred call.
O, search me dear God so Thou knows my heart,
If there be wicked in me.
O, try me and lead in thy sure way.
