Blessed Are The Ruins is the first release in 10 years from The Danny Smith Project, a Tokyo-based collective with the influence of American traditional music and post-rock. This EP is a collection of four songs, all recorded in an abandoned mine, based on a fictional story of a man who lost everything and was suddenly reborn as ruins. All songs were captured in one take with a monaural reel-to-reel without any edit, and the band weaves a blessing for the man as the title describes.

米芸術家ハリー・スミスが愛したトラッドと、ポストロックをベースに活動しているダニースミス・プロジェクト。実に10年ぶりのリリースとなる本作は、全てを失った男がある日突然廃墟に生まれ変わるという架空の物語をモチーフに、廃鉱山でフィールドレコーディングされた4曲入りのEP。全曲オープンリールを用いたモノラル・ワンテイク録音で、「朽ちた廃墟は幸いである」というタイトル通り、その男へ向けた祝福を紡いでいる。
