[FLIGHT LANDING] Lufthansa A340-300 - Rare Afternoon Landing at Dublin Airport

Описание: FRA-DUB: Rarely does an opportunity arise to fly an Airbus A340 on a short-haul route. I did have a previous one-off experience flying a Swiss A340 from Zurich to Dusseldorf (links below). I enjoyed it so much I wanted to get back on the A340 before they retire, but did not want to spend a lot of money to do so. Thankfully Lufthansa's 2019 summer schedule includes a few inter-Europe A340 flights, with Dublin being one of them (only on Wednesdays). The other European A340 routes are Vienna and Lisbon. Maybe I'll try for those later on.

The interior on this aircraft was definitely showing it's age (pictures at the end). I paid 25 CHF to sit in the premium economy cabin and I will say that I would not spend an extra few hundred dollars (or more) on their long-haul flights. The seat is slightly wider than in economy and overall it would not be worth it in my opinion. There are definitely better premium economy products out there.

The flight was shorter than I thought it would be. I did not know there was an enormous wind mill farm between the UK and Ireland, it's quite impressive that they can put that in the middle of the ocean. There was a good amount of traffic in Dublin with a few heavies getting ready to depart. We parked at a remote stand, which I am wondering was because the terminal cannot handle the size of aircraft at one of the jet bridges.
