The Sangdong coastline at Daebubuk-dong of Ansan city possesses a saltmarsh with a wide spread of East Asia Seepweed colony. Unlike normal intertidal zones, this one possesses diverse coastlines consisting of rock fragments, gravel, sand, etc., while deep and wide tidal channels have been formed by the influence of the Yeongheung waterway to the west of Daebudo Island. The scenery created by the harmony of the surround- ing hills and tidal flat is exceedingly beautiful and various coastal bird species such as the endangered black- faced spoonbill and the Eastern curlew come to visit.
안산시 대부북동에 위치한 상동 연안은 대규모의 칠면초 군락이 넓게 분포한 염생습지를 가지고 있다. 일반적인 갯벌 조간대와 달리 암석편과 자갈, 모래 등으로 이뤄진 다양한 해안선을 가지고 있으며 대부도 서쪽에 있는 영흥수로의 영향 으로 넓고 깊은 갯골이 형성되어 있다. 주변 산지와 갯벌이 어우러진 경관이 매우 아름답고 멸종위기의 저어새와 알락 꼬리마도요를 비롯한 다양한 연안성 조류들이 찾아온다.
