Its development extends far beyond: further south, the Beijing Daxing International Airport (opened in 2019) is not just a “new gateway” but, with its Airport Economic Zone at the core, drives the entire region's transformation towards international exchange, tech innovation, and high-end industries. Simultaneously, as a critical node connecting urban Beijing with the “Xiong'an New Area”, it is riding a wave of historic transition.
