The Quadruped Scapular Clock with Band is a highly effective shoulder control exercise we use at Good Vibes Physio to improve scapular (shoulder blade) awareness, strength, and stability — without stressing the shoulder joint.
This drill teaches you how to move your shoulder blade in different directions while keeping the arm and trunk stable, which is essential for healthy shoulders, pain-free pressing, and overhead movement.
We use this exercise in physio and rehab programs to help people:
✅ Improve shoulder blade control and coordination
✅ Strengthen the muscles that stabilise the shoulder
✅ Reduce shoulder pain and overload
✅ Build a strong foundation for pressing and overhead work
How to do it:
Set up in a quadruped (all fours) position with a resistance band attached to your arm.
Keeping your elbow straight, slowly move your shoulder blade in different directions like the hands of a clock — without bending your arms or shifting your body.
Move slowly and stay in control.
Small movements. Big control.
At Good Vibes Physio, we don’t just strengthen shoulders — we train how they move.
If your shoulders feel weak, unstable, or poorly coordinated, this is a great place to start — but the right plan still matters.
