Govt to issue public consultation paper on loss-sharing framework for scam victims

Описание: The government will issue a public consultation paper next month on a framework for fair sharing of losses by scam victims. The framework has been in the works since 2021. Minister of State for Trade and Industry Alvin Tan said, for a start, it will focus on phishing scams. He was responding to an adjournment motion by Workers' Party MP Sylvia Lim. She called for victims to be fully reimbursed in certain situations, and suggested additional safeguards for customers, such as physical tokens.
