India Under-19 captain Ayush Mhatre snubbed a handshake with his Bangladesh counterpart during Match 7 of the Under-19 World Cup on Saturday, January 17, at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. With Bangladesh captain Md Azizul Hakim Tamim unwell, vice-captain Zawad Abrar stepped in to take his place at the toss. However, there was some awkward tension between the two captains as the pair avoided a handshake. After Bangladesh won the toss and opted to field first, Abrar was seen walking closely past Mhatre, but the duo avoided any eye contact or interaction. Minutes later, players from both teams were waiting on the boundary for the national anthem. However, as they walked into the field, they avoided any interaction and handshakes.
