After a smooth overnight flight from Singapore, we hit the strong westerly winds whilst descending into Melbourne. The gusts were very strong resulting in our whale being rocked around a lot. The crew did a great job to land our A380 on runway 27 (the shorter of the two runways at Melbourne). Whilst approaching RWY 27, we hit a large gust of wind sending us crashing into the ground, certainly one of the hardest landing I've ever experienced, followed by some seriously harsh braking. Being just before Chinese New Year, the flight was completely full too. Otherwise a pleasure to fly with Emirates again.
