A snapshot of my two years on the east coast of Madagascar and a tribute to my amazing community of Sahavalaina.
Sahavalaina, which means "Valley of the Vines," is a small town of about 2,000 people situated on the Rongaronga river. The town is known for its fruit, and most locals earn their living by working the land. They speak the Betsimisaraka dialect of Malagasy and are known for their hospitality and warmth.
What ended up defining my Peace Corps service was not my work or travel, but rather becoming part of a community. Misaotra betsaka andrio jiaby!
