Описание: 100 km west of the town of Takasago, in Japan, there is a stunning megalith. It is called Ishi-no-Hoden.

Ishi-no-Hoden is made quite simply — on the edge of a rock mass around a large piece of mountain, a rock is selected, and this piece of mountain itself is given the non-trivial geometric shape described above.According to rough estimates, the volume of the seized rock is about 400 cubic meters. m. and a mass of about 1000 tons.

Under the megalith is a large stone tank in the form of a tray, filled with water that never dries out.

Because of the water under the megalith, the supporting part in the center of the stone-the lintel that still connects the megalith to the rock base-is not visible, and it seems to float in the air. Therefore, Ishi-no-Hoden is also called the Soaring Stone.

According to available sources, Ishi-no-Hoden is not made of granite, but of the so-called hyaloclastite, formed during the eruption of liparite lava into the water about 70 million years ago.

Scientists have not found out who created this megalith and why.
