About a quarter million 3D-particles being pulled and pushed by a gravity-source controlled with the mouse. LMB-drag attracts, RMB-drag repels and MMB clears the gravity-source.
A particle's velocity also affects its opacity, thus they are only visible when they move due to gravitational forces.
I was curious how well a desktop-GL example I wrote last year (C++, OpenGL 3.x, see https://www.youtube.com/embed/q4lJl0j...) ports over to the browser using plain WebGL2 and JavaScript (no three.js). It is a bit weird how OpenGL is mapped to JavaScript (e.g. buffer creation APIs are named differently), but I am happy with the result.
This also works on smartphones with a modern browser (Firefox, Chrome, Brave... no Safari).
