Описание: Abstract: Demands of new markets to high energy rechargeable batteries in the areas of grid energy storage have driven much attention in the next generation zinc‐oxygen batteries as an alternative to current lithium ion batteries. However, some issues related to commercially available alkaline-based electrolytes of the rechargeable zinc-oxygen cells have yet to be solved for widely employing this technology in practical applications. On this basis, we report here the study of zinc-oxygen battery in an inorganic molten salt Zn(TFSI)2-based electrolyte. The Zn(TFSI)2-H2O system of electrolyte is characterized using XRD, DSC, and TGA analyses. To enable better understanding about the electrochemical performance in molten electrolyte, the reversible zinc plating/stripping in symmetric zinc cell at different temperatures are assessed, which shows stable plating/stripping in various temperatures. Finally, to provide a proof of concept for the molten electrolyte design, and the study of zinc-oxygen batteries, the capability of electrolyte is evaluated in zinc-oxygen configuration, using Super P electrode as the established zinc-oxygen cathode. We have provided ex situ SEM, EDX, and XRD analyses of ZnO nanostructures as the discharge product of zinc-oxygen systems, which serve as the evidence of crystallinity and elemental distribution of hexagonal ZnO nanostructures as the discharge product of oxygen cells.
