This was the CompNet tournament for Gracie Barra academies in the Boise, Idaho area. Tournament held on October 1, 2022.
This was my first match of the day. I lost 3-2 (my opponent went on to win first place). Although I was 45 years old in this video, I elected to compete with the younger guys to challenge myself. I was obviously competing as a white belt as well.
I did LOTS of things wrong in this match and feel I could have won it had I been more aggressive. I was disappointed in myself for that, but this was my very first gi jiu jitsu tournament.
Although I lost I learned a lot and am glad for the experience. Also, congratulations to my opponent for a hard fought match.
