Nice Carnival, the premier international Carnival in France, is the most important winter event on the Côte d’Azur.

Two weeks of festivities bring the city of Nice to life – the “Carnival Parades” (“Corsi”) day and night, and the elegant “Flower Parades” making this an unmissable event.

The Flower Parades take place on Saturdays and Wednesdays during the afternoon and last around 1 hour 30 minutes.

Numerous floats decorated with floral compositions presented under the season’s theme, form an elegant procession. These are accompanied by hundreds of characters in extraordinary costumes parading to the rhythm of street art troupes and musical groups from all kinds of backgrounds (from all over the world), all in a colourful, festive, family atmosphere.

Costumed actresses parade on the floats decked out with beautiful flowers and shower the public with them.

Once the parade has completed a full circuit it returns but this time as all the floats process they gradually dismantled and the flowers are given to the audience. The streets of Nice are then replete with people carrying bouquets of flowers.
