Today we are going to compare two countries that we don't often talk about - Canada and the USA.
You want to immigrate to one of these countries, but you're not sure which one is better for you? We will talk about the immigration process, getting visas, taxes once you're there, opportunities to make money, etc.

Does Canada has a better passport than the USA? How long does it take to obtain these passports?

Which country is better to live in? Which one has a better safety net?

One thing that's true about US citizenship, and that we mentioned many times here, is that as long as you have American citizenship you will be paying American taxes no matter where in the world you live. That's why I'd give a slight edge to the Canadian passport because you don't have this burden of permanent citizenship-based taxation.
Another thing is that you could obtain Canadian citizenship after living for 3 years in Canada, as a permanent resident.
In the US it takes at least 5 years to obtain a passport.

What about the wages? Wages are certainly higher in the USA than in Canada. The same thing goes if you're raising capital. When it comes to business opportunities and building USA is a better place than Canada.

Which of these two countries is more beautiful to live in? Even though this is totally subjective, I'd give the edge to the US. The USA has some of the most diverse and the most beautiful nature and geography in the world - everything from oceans and mountains to deserts. Canada is beautiful, but not so diverse. Canada is not so warm either, so if you don't like cold and snow Canada will probably not meet your needs.

What about taxes? If you get to the top tax bracket you'll probably be paying more taxes in Canada!
There are more tax-appealing options in the US than in Canada.

How easily can you move to these countries? Both of them are HARD to relocate to! If you want an easy way to immigrate this could be done via investor visas. However, relocating to both the USA and Canada takes lots of time and devotion.

How about the costs of living? This can vary massively depending on where you are. Generally, I'd say that costs are comparable in these two places, but there's a huge gap between cities and rural areas.
Canada is certainly much safer to live in than the US, according to the statistics.
On the other hand, the USA is very strong about freedom of speech.
