In January 2026, Strunkiin will release two albums simultaneously. "A Past That Never Was" is a complete re-recording and partial re-composition of the self-titled debut album. This is predominantly melodeath material, but also now includes some black metal influences - after all, this is an album executed with Strunkiin's present-day sound. "Kingdom of Frost" is a fully new album of atmospheric black metal. While "A Past That Never Was" explores battles and other dramatic scenes, KoF is focused primarily on atmosheres and landscapes.

In early 2022, I had been working on these two albums for several years and it seemed like they would soon be ready for release. However, my addiction had worsened to a stage where I was unable to properly work on music or otherwise lead a normal life. None of my musical plans could translate into action, and only after getting clean am I able to function again. If not for recovery, I wouldn't even be alive today, and now everything is back on track.
