These are a few common mistakes I see lash techs make pretty often.

1. USING THE WRONG LENGTH
This is done sooo much! A lash set should never be 1 length through out. There should never be a long length on the inner corners such as 14mm or up for most clients. There are rare clients that have super long or super strong lashes that can handle more than most but again, it's rare.

2. NOT CUSTOMIZING THE SETS
One thing I see a lot is lash techs doing the same set over and over again. That's not in the best interest of your client! Everyones eye shapes are different as natural lashes. You need to cater each set to each client. That means making sure your evaluating your clients lashes first.

3. TREATING EVERY CLIENT THE SAME
This is the worst thing you can do! Every client is so different and not just their eyes. Their style, their skin and yes of course their hair type! This means you need to be prepping your client as THEY need it. You need to determine if they have dry skin or oily skin and what best suits their skin.

4. TAPING WRONG
This happened to me for a very long time! Learning to tape is something you can correct quickly and can change your sets dramatically! When you tape too close to the water line you risk the pad or tape getting in their eye and causing irritation. Along with that, if you tape too close, you can also run into the issue of hiding some top lashes. Mostly the inner and outer corner. Which are so important to your set!

5. TIME OVER QUALITY
This one is something WE ALL go through! But once you change that mindset, things can really change! Time should never be your first concern. You need to focus on quality, isolation and placement. This is where you need to focus because these crucial times are where you grow as an artist and create your own techniques and style. These are your defining moments and if your focused on timing you'll close yourself off from the growth because you'll never follow through with what you can do!
