Hats & Hoods, the latest release by UK artist Feed'Em is out now on all digital streaming platforms. Part of his Gospel of Grime project, the track draws parallels between the Grime culture and Church culture.
We are familiar with 'no hats, no hoods' a prejudice term towards UK grime and subsequently it was used as a rule to deny certain groups of people access in clubs or venues. This stereotype is also found in some churches where those that wear hats and hoods or a certain style of closthing are perceived as 'less matured' and at times frowned upon.
Hats & Hoods explores the Christian concept of 'come as you are' in an alter call context that is less about Church clothes but the heart being right with God.
