Italy supports the genetic diversity indicators in the Post-2020 GBF

Описание: Genetic diversity, along with species and ecosystem diversity, is recognized as one of three building blocks under the UN's Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). There is abundant evidence of the substantial role of genetic diversity in the resilience of ecosystems and conservation of the species diversity. Genetic diversity helps maintain ecosystem functions, stability and services. As the most significant global conservation policy mechanism, the new CBD framework has far reaching consequences and it will guide conservation strategies and actions and subsequent reporting for each CBD member country until 2050.
