You may think you don’t know Oia, Greece. But if you’ve seen photos of Santorini, chances are you were looking at Oia. The small town carved out of the cliffs of a caldera (a volcanic crater) is made of pure white buildings with iconic blue domed roofs, windmills, cobblestone streets and breathtaking water views.

Local bus ticket is super cheap (1.60 euros/person) and easy-to-use bus system that will take you anywhere you want to go in Santorini! Central bus depot is Fira.

If you are looking for luxurious stay Oia is the place for you. Sit inside the villa and watch the sunset. A bit less crowded, but expensive are Imerovigli and Fira. on the other side of the island are Kamari and Perssa. Kamari offers beautiful sunrise views and is a has many places to shop. It is cheaper than Oia or Fira markets. Perissa is the restful village. Whichever village you choose, I promise it's going to be a wonderful stay.

Many restaurants offer great sea food and grill options. Santorini is known for its distinctive cuisine and ingredients, courtesy of the peculiar volcanic soil. You would find sample staples like fáva (yellow split peas, puréed), domatínia (flavourful cherry tomatoes), white aubergines (which taste subtly different from purple ones) on every restaurant's menue.
