Sonic the Hedgehog is the fearless, tough and of course speedy hero that'll never back down from a challenge or someone in need, but put him in a pool of water and suddenly, all of his usual bravado goes flying out of the window.

Since 1991, players of this series have understood Sonic's fear of water all too well when the time to guide the blue hedgehog through any of the infamous aquatic zones and the constant threat of drowning they bring to the table. But what if every zone in Sonic The Hedgehog 2 was filled to the brim with water? Could Sonic (and Tails) survive if his major weakness was an even more prevalent than it already is?

The rules are simple, just survive to the end of each Act even as your lungs constantly fill up with water. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a way to put the original version of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 completely underwater, so I had to make do with Sonic Delta, a mod that incorporates features from Sonic 3 & Knuckles into Sonic 1 and Sonic 2. Close enough.

If you want to further challenge yourself, I've come up with a grading system.
Platinum - Beat level without relying on going above surface, spin dash, Tails or any Insta-Shields
Gold - Beat level without relying on the spin dash, Tails or any Insta-Shields.
Silver - Beat level without relying on Tails or Insta-Shield.
Bronze - Beat level.
