Wayne 'Poonka' Willock recalls his time growing up in Seamen's Village, Brittons Hill.
He begins by recalling the families who grew up around him and the names of streets in the area.
Poonka goes on note musicians who came from the area such as Smokey Burke, David Weatherhead and Booney the "Pan Man."
More than that, he recalls the influence of the Tuk Bands that came through the community, especially "Potato Mouth."
Mr. Willocks also gives a brief history of the development of the musical form.
The Barbados Landship played its part in community development, being a friendly society, he notes it as foundation of the credit union movement.
His parents used to hold a dance in their front house (the living room.) His father played the double bass with The Percy Greene Band, who would provide the entertainment for these dances.
He then recalls other businesses in the area such as Carmeta Fraser's shop.
His family with others would go to Pebbles beach on mornings weekly to go to the "Pot." Pebbles Pot was the hot pot before it to Brandons.
Finally, he ends with nothing his parents involvement in "Bimshire" which was a comedic presentation that aired on television.
