A theoretical analysis of the Coda of F.F. Chopin's (1810–1849) 4th Ballade in F minor, Opus 52. Composed in 1842 and published in 1843, Ballade No. 4 is established as one of Chopin's most complex works, and the intricate nature, as well as the sheer technical difficulty of its Coda, is a prime example of that. The main takeaway of this video is the extensive use of diminished chords (and diminished-sounding chords) in this Coda, as well as the clever harmonic entrances in the piece that follow unorthodox groupings.
Also, I am very, very sick in this video, so please excuse the roughly 20 minutes of coughing and catching my breath.
Yeah, I think that's it. Time for keywords for the algorithm to trigger. Music, music theory in fact. Chopin. F.F. Chopin. Frederyk Chopin. Frédéric Chopin. Frédéric François Chopin. Poland. Polish Composer. Classical Music. Piano. 4th Ballade Coda. Krystian Zimerman, probably. More classical and more music. Music theory. Wow. Exciting. Very enlightening, even. Wow. What a video. wow.
