GURPS, and its standalone product, the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game (Powered by GURPS), or DFRPG, is a great system for fantasy roleplaying. It’s different from D&D, and in many ways far superior (depending upon what people like, like tactical combat, spellcasting limited only by fatigue, being able to parry, dodge, and block instead of just getting hit). In this series, we explore running a group of novice DFRPG characters (62 pointers) in a D&D adventure called the Temple of Elemental Evil, and then comparing that to running D&D 5th Edition characters (using the 2024 rules) through the same adventure--to compare and contrast. In this seventh episode (Part one), the DFRPG adventurers, with slight skill advances from XP and some better equipment from loot, go back to the ruined moathouse.
