Fujifilm x100f vs the x100t: Is it worth the upgrade?

Is the x100f worth the upgrade from the Fuji x100t? The answer, not surprisingly is "it depends". Both cameras are very similar in a lot of ways and some critics of the x100f have rightfully argued that not a LOT has substantively changed between the third and fourth iteration of the camera. While that may sound a bit negative, I can tell you, both cameras are amazing so it's not as though making minor upgrades to what is already awesome-is a bad thing!

The image quality is basically the same with a bit more real estate in the 24MP files over the 16MP. The ISO is now incorporated into an external wheel, Acros has been added to the film simulations and of course the joystick is a new addition that has cleaned up a lot of the buttons strewn about the x100t. The autofocus is slightly improved and the softness wide open still can be an issue if you're shooting at close range.

So is it worth it? If I had flexibility in my budget, I'd go with the x100f because it's newer and there will be firmware updates. If I was tight on cash, I'd go with a used x100t that someone is dumping on ebay in order to buy the x100f. Both will make amazing photographs and there are not many situations that I can envision where someone with an x100t would be at a significant disadvantage. I know that I'm a bit nit picky with some of the points here but I love both cameras.

I want to encourage people to be judicious financially and know that you don't have to drop the extra 500 bucks to make great pictures. If you have it to spend and it's not an issue then by all means...x100f, full speed ahead!

I included image samples of both cameras side by side to see if you can spot the difference between what I shot with the x100f vs the x100t. All the odd numbered shots were x100t all the even numbered shots were x100f.
