The Greatest Hits print of this game gave this level its own song, too, after first reusing Cloud Spires' song in the first print.
After dealing with the Desert Ruins, Haunted Tomb takes place in another more Egyptian desert. All of the NPCs here are dogs, and all of them will give you riddles to solve.
The first dog, Dan, has this riddle: "I am a vessel without hinges, lock or lid, yet, within my walls, a golden treasure is hid." Remember that as you must also brave through the catacombs in order to solve that riddle.
The sarcophagi you find here constantly spawn Rhynoc mummies. To destroy each sarcophagus and stop the respawning, you have to spit at them with heated rocks that you can get from the big golem enemies. They'll spawn gems after you destroy them. You can then spit them right back at those same golems to kill them, too.
Even if you forget about this later, there's one section that's raining boulders, and you'll sometimes find those same white rocks among them.
At the very end, another dog, Allgeier, asks you the same riddle Dan did. YOU COULD answer by saying "a bandicoot", but as fun as that sounds, it's completely wrong, so just pick "an egg" and solve that riddle and get the egg, because really, what else would the treasure be?! Come on, now!
You'll make Allgeier happy, because now he can go to Seashell Shore to bury the bones like he always wanted to do!
----------
There are other things you can do here. At the end, you can slide along the back of a giant cobra structure to get to an egg.
The first sub-area leads to an annual demolition hovercraft competition, because "apparently", that was something the Egyptians started ages ago. For the riddle necessary to participate in it, it's this: "If one dragon can lay one egg in 12 years how long would it take 100 dragons to lay 100 eggs?" Answer with "twelve years", and get read to blast some Rhynocs, for of them to be exact.
A straight shot from the hovercraft's cannon hits a Rhynoc directly, while and lob shot shoots a cannonball in an arc, and makes a fiery shockwave when it lands. After beating the 4 Rhynocs, you get an Egg, but then there's a championship round where you have to blast down 10 Rhynocs to get another Egg.
----------
The second sub-area of this level is for Agent 9. Apparently, one of the dogs cursed his tail, but it hasn't turned into a snake, yet.
Agent 9's challenge is to go through 5 trials to reach another treasure, which is definitely an egg. Of course, this has a riddle before it, too: "I follow you wherever you go, but the more of me you take, the more you leave behind." It's footsteps!
The first trial has you just shoot down a bunch of snakes.
The second trial has more snakes, and basket that spawn more of them. Shoot them all down.
The third trial has snakes, baskets, and now mummies, too.
The fourth trial has snakes, baskets, mummies, and sarcophagi. Unlike Spyro's flame and charge, Agent 9's laser can very easily shoot down a sarcophagus.
Finally, the fifth and final trial adds all of that, and the golems. You'll still need to throw their unstable rocks at them to kill them.
Beat that last trial, all without dying once, and the egg at the end is yours! Still no further word on Agent 9's tail turning into a snake, though...
----------
As for the Skill Point that's in this level... It is absolutely the easiest one to ever get out of this whole game. Just get to that first small river and swim towards the dark hole it's coming out of. Maybe the developers made it a skill point because there was nothing else to put in there. Who knows?
