The Attorney General Forms Two Committees to Investigate Security Violations and Recent Events

Описание: The Attorney General has issued two decisions to form committees tasked with investigating human rights and security-related cases involving alleged violations by members of the Central Security and Stability Support Apparatus. The investigations also cover abuses that occurred during recent protests in Tripoli.

The first committee is responsible for examining complaints and reports against members of the security forces and for documenting alleged human rights violations committed by them. The second committee is tasked with investigating incidents of injury and death among protesters and security personnel, deaths in detention centers, as well as thefts and assaults that accompanied the recent security unrest in the capital during the current month of May.

Both committees have begun their work by receiving complaints from judicial control authorities and initiating legal procedures, including witness hearings, interrogations of suspects, and field inspections. The Office of the Attorney General has called on citizens to submit any complaints or information they may have at the committees’ offices located in the South and North Tripoli prosecution departments.
