Last night the Otis Walker Band took the stage on Beale Street in Memphis and brought our own brand of musical gumbo to the blues capital of the world.
This performance of “Rock Me Baby” came during a stretch of the night where everything just clicked. The band was on fire, the crowd was locked in, and for about 45 minutes it felt like we owned Beale Street.
For me personally, this moment was 28 years in the making. I first fell in love with Beale Street when I saw Blind Mississippi Morris at the Rum Boogie Cafe, and standing on that stage last night felt like living out a dream I’ve been chasing ever since.
Huge thanks to the super fans who drove from Huntsville to be there with us, and to the new friends we made from Arkansas, Seattle, Ireland, the Netherlands, and beyond who stopped in and stayed for the music.
And of course a big shoutout to the incredible band that made the night happen:
Rob, Chris, and Sean — you guys carried this old hack all night long.
