How Coffee is Made | Types of Coffee Beans

Описание: The two primary types of coffee beans are Arabica and Robusta. Around 10 million tons of coffee is cultivated in the tropical "Bean Belt." Coffee berries are manually harvested and can be processed by either the dry or wet method. In the dry method, the coffee beans are spread out to dry under the sun. In the wet method, the skin and pulp are removed, and the coffee beans are then fermented in water before drying.

Once dried, coffee beans are called "parchment coffee." This stage involves removing the dried husks and sorting the beans by size and quality in preparation for export.

The processed coffee beans, now known as "green coffee," are stored under controlled conditions. Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) experts inspect these green coffee beans for appearance and size and conduct tests on taste and aroma to ensure the highest quality.
