The Shrine of St. Anthony of Padua or popularly called Sulangan Church in Guiuan, Eastern Samar is known and famous for being miraculous.
Thousands of Catholic devotees visit the church every month to light a candle, ask, and pray for blessings from its Patron Saint Anthony of Padua.
It's been told in many stories, that the Patron Saint has saved the people of Sulangan from typhoons and other calamities.
Sulangan is a barangay in the municipality of Guiuan, in the province of Eastern Samar. To reach the Church, tourists and visitors will travel around 20KM by road from the downtown of Guiuan. Guiuan is around 145 KM or 3-4 hour road trip from Tacloban City, the center of Eastern Visayas.
