People of Manikganj demanded rail communication in Paturia-Manikganj-Dhaka route on Wednesday in a human chain.
They urged local lawmaker AM Naimur Rahman Durjoy and concerned minister to take immediate steps to construct the rail-line at Paturia-Manikganj-Dhaka. They also sought intervention of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who has been working to build up the Digital Bangladesh by Vision 2021. They said they will continue their program until construction of the rail-line which is demand of heart of Manikganj people. Hundreds of people from all walks of life from different profession, cultural, pol and non government organizations including Manikganj Press Club, Bangladesh Resource Center for Indigenous Knowledge (BARCIK), Manikganj Sangbadik Samity, Shahid Rafique Samajik Kalyan Parishad, Prothom Alo Bondhusava, Mukul Fouz, Kulfa Goshthi, Krishak Samity, Juba Union, Chhartra Union, Uttaran, Baratha Uttaran Sangha, Banghabondhu Sangkritik Jote, Jonaranya, Tarunner Alo Juba Sangathan, Sholdhara Agragoti Sangha, Butuni Meghdut Safiuddin Smriti Sangha, Kakjor Golden Sangha, Step and Pasha took part in the human chain and expressed their solidarity to the demand.
Manikganj Press Club president Golam Sarwar Sanu, its general secretary Biplob Chakraborty, former GS Zahangir Alam Biswas, among others were presnt there.
