Choose an insert shape with a large point angle and big radius to ensure the highest strength to the cutting edge. Use holders with smaller entering angles to reduce hip thickness and enable increased feed rates to avoid long chips.

Heavy machining operations require high reliability of cutting tools working in very tough conditions. Operations with high cutting conditions such as big D.O.C. and high feed rates require a stable and tough clamping mechanism. The ISCAR DOVE IQ system ensures we can perform these types of operations. A prismatic clamping shape around the insert gives us the advantage of holding the insert rigid and stable in the pocket and prevents it from lifting or moving, even under high cutting forces.

The ISCAR DOVE IQ system is available for Turning, Grooving and Milling lines and is widely used on machining large shaft power components and other complicated castings, which are very common in power generation, ships, railway, and other industries.
