A classic pre-CPS1 game from Capcom released in 1987. This is probably one of Capcom's hardest games along with Trojan and Gun.Smoke. Ghosts'n Goblins is a piece of cake compared to Tiger Road.

What makes this game so difficult is its randomness. You cannot really memorize what to do in every moment. Enemies are endless and there are no good strategies for most bosses. You rely on luck and skill.

You can select stage at the beginning (in the Japanese version this option is not activated by default), but it's almost impossible to beat the game if you don't start at the first or second stage, because you need all the power ups to make the last stage easy.

The Japanese version has two loops, but it's easier than the Western one. Beating the game without dying is pure luck. I could try a thousand times and not being able to do it again. Obviously, I can always beat the game with 1 credit, but the third stage is so difficult and random that you have to be very lucky to complete it without dying.

The game was ported to Amstrad, C64, Spectrum, Amiga, Atari ST and Pc Engine. The latter is a different game with different levels. Almost all ports are bad, maybe the best one is the C64 one.

To sum up, a very good game but probably too difficult. I hope you enjoy the gameplay :)
