Dixie Fire closes Lassen Volcanic National Park

The Lassen Volcanic National Park has been closed due to the Dixie Fire as it is active in the eastern side of the park, the National Park Service said.
“The temporary closure ensures firefighters have unimpeded access to all areas of the park,” said Superintendent Jim Richards. “The park’s current priorities are to ensure the immediate evacuation of visitors and to protect facilities along the park highway and in the Manzanita Lake and Mineral Headquarters areas.”
Evacuations remain in effect for Lassen County and can be found below.
In Lassen County, the area south of Highway 44 from the Lassen County line east to the areas of Silver Lake, Juniper Lake and the Caribou Wilderness Area are under a mandatory evacuation.
The area of Mountain Meadows Reservoir from Hamilton Branch east to the Lassen and Plumas county line.
There is a warning for Westwood and Pine Town area. Clear Creek is also under evacuation warnings.
