I replaced the pump and inlet screen inside the fuel pump assembly on my 2021 Harley-Davidson Pan America. It had started making the 'grinding noise' on start up at roughly 9,000 miles while I was away on a trip. When I used fuel additives to attempt to clean the pump it toned the grinding down to a 'whine' and it got me home.
I replaced the pump with a Quantum, the inlet screen with a H-D part, and the 5 screws holding the pump to the tank.
