The song was never officially released on a project, but can be found on vol. 1 of the Freshmen Adjustment mixtape series.

More commonly referred to as "Gossip Files", the entire song is a direct response to the many people who doubted Kanye at the time, and were trying to kill his dream of making it big in the music industry.

The song is built around a chopped and sped up sample of Belle Epoque’s 1977 track Me and You, and the chorus includes a brief vocal refrain from Ol Dirty Bastard’s 1995 track Shimmy Shimmy Ya.

The first verse from Kanye on this track is noteworthy as he opens up the song with a line he would later end up using on School Spirit.

In addition, it was the first time Kanye would ever hint at potentially being bipolar, which is the only time he would ever talk about it on a record until over 15 years later on the tracks Yikes, Chakras, and an early version of Keep My Spirit Alive

They told my Momma I was bipolar, had A.D.D

And the second verse is notable as Kanye raps a line about Leaders and Followers that almost exactly matches a line he would end up rapping 10 years later on New Slaves.

'Cause we the leaders and they the followers
And we the nut busters and they the swallowers

Although Dreamkillers wouldn’t end up making the cut for The College Dropout, the overall sentiment of the track would maintain a huge importance to Kanye and the entire theme of the project, as he would go on to reference Dreamkillers at the very end of the album on the track Last Call, rapping a line that may just represent his entire career better than any other.
