Описание: Earthquake in Philippines disrupts morning school flag ceremony

An offshore 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the southern Philippines early Monday, causing slight damage near the epicentre and triggering a tsunami wave of up to 1 metre (3 feet) along nearby coastal areas. At least four people were killed and over 200 others injured, according to officials.

A video from Mahayahay Elementary School showed children screaming as a canopy roof collapsed during the quake. The school later confirmed that all students and staff remained safe and orderly, with classes suspended after safety checks.
