Meet Bear 854 Divot - Bears of Brooks Falls

Описание: Compared to their grizzly cousins in the interior of North America, female brown bears in Katmai have small home ranges. When salmon are plentiful, they need not travel great distances to find food. But that doesn’t mean they can’t or won’t.

Divot is a medium-sized adult female with light brown fur and a long straight muzzle. In early summer she has a prominent shed patch on her forehead. Her most distinguishing physical characteristic, no matter the time of year, is a thin scar that completely encircles her neck.
