How To Customize Infiniti G37 Mirrors With LED (Q50 Mirror Replacement)

NOTE 1: You will have to completely disassemble your mirror from the mounting point. This will be so you’re able to snake the wire through. They come apart with a T25 Torx screw. Follow the existing wiring to run the wires for the LED’s.    • INSTALLING RGB Q50 MIRRORS ON G37   - that is my Q50 mirror video that goes into a little more detail on dissembling the mirrors. The disassembly is at approximately 7:10 in that video.

The Q50 Mirror video is also a good resource on what the door looks like pulled apart. I would suggest taking a look at that entire video as well before attempting this project.

NOTE 2: You may want to drill a hole under your mirror caps to run the wire through, but it is not necessary.

This is a tutorial on how to customize the eBay mirror covers with the LED’s preinstalled. In this video, I will be discussing how to change the LEDs from the amber that they come with to pure white. If you’re not comfortable with extending wire or soldering, then this might not be the right project for you to attempt alone.

You will need a dremel with a cutoff wheel (preferably a diamond cutoff wheel as it provides the smallest cut). You don’t have to frost the lens like I did, but I feel like it hides the LED strips, disburses the light to make it appear more uniform, hides the wires, and also masks any imperfections you might have. I used a long, metal coat-hanger to run my wire from the door inside and through the car.

Remember presentation and cleanliness is key. Add wire loom as you see fit. Add heat shrink to all of your soldering points. Tape the lens before you silicone. Silicone can be messy.
