HOPE For His TMJ AFTER 42 Doctors?! Neck Blocks & Neural Occlusion Screening Help DIAGNOSE Him!

Описание: A young man travels to Arkansas from Tennessee to see if Dr. Nick could help him figure out his TMD problems which included:
-chronic temple headaches
-chronic pain in both of his TMJ's
-hypersensitive teeth
-trouble opening comfortably
-stiff neck
He'd seen 42 other doctors over the past 7 years, having spent well over $20,000 on splints, medications, botox, prolotherapy, physical therapy, and chiropractic care. Funny thing is, no one could give him a true diagnosis...they all put him directly into "treatment" without sharing with him what exactly was wrong with him. Typical for the generic cookie-cutter approach that TMD patients are usually presented with...

Dr. Nick put him through the Neural Occlusion screening protocols which included MRI/CT/Tscan/EMG/Joint Vibration Analysis to put numbers to his condition. It turned out that his bite was in good shape, but that his orthopedic TMJ's and his upper cervical spine were a torn up mess. Piper 3a on his LEFT TMJ, and Piper 4ab on his RIGHT TMJ. Greater auricular nerve neck blocks with local anesthetic proved to the patient and Dr. Nick that his pain is coming primarily from cervical (C spine) and sympathetic (autonomic nerve fibers that were excessively firing) inputs, after the neck blocks knocked his headache pain down from an 8/10 to a 2/10, and his tooth sensitivity from a 3/10 to a 0/10. Next stop for him is a consultation with:
-an expert in the upper cervical spine (chiro or physical therapist)
-a TMJ surgeon for a possible surgical workup for his damaged TMJ's and a deeper workup to check for facial CRPS1 aka Piper Syndrome.
Occlusal/bite treatments were NOT indicated with this patient. He is super happy however, because Dr. Nick helped him figure out the genesis of his problems! Measured Matters ;)
