A few years ago, AWR held a series of evangelistic meetings on the island of Palawan, Philippines. There were hundreds of preaching sites throughout this large island, and our local AWR crew needed assistance to meet the demand.

They asked Jun, a young man from one of the local churches, to help by hosting a radio program. Jun immediately replied, “I can’t do that! Ask somebody else.” He had no experience and felt he lacked the talent.

But God was working on his heart, and a few days later, he mustered up the courage to try. As he recorded his first presentation, Jun felt inspired and poured his heart and soul into the program . . . only to discover he’d forgotten to turn on the microphone!

“I felt such shame and embarrassment that all I wanted to do was quit,” he said. But as he thought about giving up, God inspired him with an idea never before tried on radio—and what a success it was!
