Afroman, real name Joseph Foreman, is being sued by several Adams County, Ohio deputies after he used footage from the 2022 raid on his home in music videos, social media posts, and merchandise.

The raid was carried out over suspicions of drugs and kidnapping, but officers found no illegal drugs, no kidnapping victim, and filed no charges. Afroman’s home cameras captured the raid, and he later used that footage in songs like Lemon Pound Cake and other content mocking and criticizing what happened.

The claims still going to trial include false light, publicity to private life, and defamation. Two other claims were already dismissed. So this case is not just about the videos or posts. It is also about whether deputies can sue over criticism of a raid that turned up nothing.
