Sock Knitting: Toe Decreasing - Shaping the Sides of the Toe - Paired Decreases - Wendy Poole

Описание: In this video I show you how to decrease for the toe section, after reaching the ball of the foot. The decreases both need to face inwards and this is known as “Paired Decreases” and apply to the top and bottom side of the sock.

This is the the method that I have used in my Basic Sock Sock Knitting Pattern, that has been used in my Workshops and is available to download as a Free PDF Pattern. There are 2 options for the pattern, of a version with full colour photos and a printer friendly version.

When I’m using the Magic Loop method of knitting socks and using standard (UK) 4 ply sock yarn, I like to use a size 2.5mm / 80cm length circular needle, but if you are using this method for your own pattern, you’ll need to follow your own patterns “materials” requirements.

James C Brett - Funny Feetz, 4 ply Sock Yarn.
King Cole - Footsie, 4 ply Sock Yarn (Kiwi).

In this video I’m using the Magic Loop method of knitting, but you can equally use Double Pointed Needles (DPNs), using 5 needles, (stitches distributed over 4 needles and 1 working needle), and work across 2 needles for the front of the sock and work across 2 needles for the heel section.
