OK here is a transition from Alpha Beta to eventually Safeway. ABCO had a contest to give away Jeeps.
To me the takeaway from this one is the Valley Bank mention at the end, it reads: "Most Stores Now Accept Valley National Bank Credit Cards" It is hard to believe, but true, that prior to this time period you had to pay cash or check for your groceries.
The commercial was originally aired May 26th 1991. It was shown during an airing of a movie special of "Annie Hall" on Channel 45 KUTP. KUTP was an independent station.
