PLURI Course The Sprachspinat® Concept

Описание: The PLURI course takes you on a journey through the broader landscape of language learning in education, linking policy, theory and practical classroom applications. It is designed for educators who wish to harness multilingualism with confidence and create inclusive, empowering learning spaces.

The course contains three parts: the first focuses on language policy, the second on pedagogical concepts, and the third on practice.

This is the third video in the third part: ‘The Sprachspinat® Concept: Combining Language Education and Education for Sustainable Development in a Playful Manner’, presented by Dr Sonja Eisenbeiß (Mercator Institute, University of Cologne). It introduces Sprachspinat as a pedagogical concept combining language learning and education for sustainable development through enjoyable, hands-on activities. The presentation explains how a reusable, sustainable toolkit and a set of six principles for language activities can promote rich language development across the senses and in different learning situations. Using natural materials and garden as learning environment, the concept demonstrates how linguistic awareness, vocabulary, grammar and communication skills can be developed alongside ecological thinking and sustainable practices.
