My daughter wanted a stand for her small collection of Clipper lighters. Welcome! Of course, you can also buy some. But what you find on the online platforms is just very ugly plastic and quite wobbly. So it's a nice little project.
A good piece of mahogany was still lying around. The rest is just a bit of sawing, sanding and drilling. And some work on the lathe for the feet and the inserts, so that it looks like something.
Most of the time was spent on the shellac polish. It was my first attempt with shellac, but I'm quite happy with the result. It looks great and highlights both the mahogany and the brass very well. But it takes time. One coat to fill the pores, then another day for drying. That then four times in a row and another four work steps with one day drying for the polish. But I think it was worth it!
