Yet another dodge mod? Yes, for console users or those who don't like any of the existing dodge mods. Since it doesn't require F4SE, it should work with both the Old/Next-Gen and Anniversary updated versions.
[Description]
While you have your weapon drawn, you can press the sneak key/button to dodge/slide. When you want to sneak, sheathe your weapon.
"Roll" is a three-way roll and a long backward step. "Step" is a three-way step and a forward dodge roll. If "Step" selected, iframes and AP Cost are halved.
"Perfect Dodge" - When you dodge a melee attack, you trigger a slow time effect for 1 second (or 0.5 sec if "Step" selected).
"Slide" - You can slide while sprinting. Slide consumes 1.5x AP and has full iframes during animation.
By default, iframes is 0.5s, AP Cost is 30, and the animation is "Roll".
These animation options can be set separately for firearms and melee weapons.
When your AP is less than the AP Cost, slide/dodge will be triggered without iframes.
F4SE Features (BETA): Toggleable from holotapes, disabled by default. This replaces "OnEnterSneaking Event" (Vanila function) with "OnControlDown Event" (F4SE function), which improves input responsiveness. It works, but I haven't spent much time testing it during the development of the mod.
[Notes]
This mod doesn't have the best responsiveness because it's a script, but I've optimized it as much as possible and eliminated the ridiculous random delays of 1 to 3 seconds associated with the PlayIdle function. If you're a modder, feel free to reverse engineer it.
In this game, sneaking is triggered by releasing the button, not by pressing it, so the input itself is delayed rather than the script. This cannot be avoided without F4SE, but you may feel a slight improvement in responsiveness by swapping the sneak control (R stick) with the jump control in the control settings. I personally highly recommend it.
"When your AP is less than the AP Cost, slide/dodge will be triggered without iframes." - This was necessary to minimize condition checks and improve responsiveness as much as possible. Honestly the mod even has a fake pre-iframe that triggers whether you have AP or not, as I needed it to work faster than the Actor.SetGhost function which disables the Hit Event.
The plugin name for this mod is "SlideStandalone.esp" because I reworked this mod from my Slide - Standalone mod. Yes, I didn't change it, I didn't bother because the main target audience for this mod is console users. If you already have the Slide - Standalone mod installed, this mod should be installable as an update.
Just in case, iframes = invincibility frames. For convenience, iframes is still an available term even if it is sec. Technically, this mod toggles the SetGhost() function and ignores all hits.
[Q&A]
Q: Does this mod work in first person?
A: Yes, but the animation is played in 3rd person.
Q: Does this mod work with power armor?
A: No, because I can't make animations.
Q: Does this mod support gamepads?
A: Yes.
Q: Hotkey/MCM?
A: No, they are F4SE.
Q: Is there an option to not change sneaking while aiming/not aiming/not moving? Is there an option to allow dodging when not drawing a weapon?
A: No, apologize to idea man.
Q: Compatibility? In a general sense.
A: No conflicts will occur, as this mod doesn't edit anything. However, if there is another mod that gives sneak a different function, I cannot guarantee that these will work together properly.
Q: Compatibility? With other dodge mods.
A: Yes, but there's no point in using it with other dodge mods.
