This is the story behind the Hunger Strike in front of the Houston City Hall - a peaceful protest that began on May 27, 2014 to end the abuse of power, corruption, redlining and discrimination by local governments.
The story began because our local government has been using the city's lack of zoning as an escape clause for getting away with maximizing the city's revenues at the expense of citizens' civil rights and other constitutional freedoms.
